Week 2

Week 2

Last week (week 2) was incredible in the amount God moved in me and others here at Crystal Springs. We had an incredible speaker Jono Turner, and even though I didn’t agree 100% with what he said, he spoke a lot of truth. The topic for the week was the Father Heart of God. He spoke a lot on how we have become sons and daughters of God when we accept Jesus and what this all means. There were some incredible revelations God showed me last week.

On Wednesday after our break during the Lecture we had a time of prayer. It was in this time of prayer that God showed me what the wall standing in the way of me and God. When we were praying God showed me that I was empty without him. It was a realization that I have been having over this entire past year. I can’t do things on my own. I need to let God take the lead. God was saying, “Let me reign”. If you can check out the song Reign is us by Starfield, very good song.

So God began breaking through to me in new ways that week. Also on Friday we got to experience our first community outreach. I went to the local community of Matamata with a group of students and leaders where we would just hang out with kids at the Youth drop in center and at the skatepark. It was a good chance to meet some of the kids and realize how much there like us J.

A little blurb about Matamata. Matamata is a town of about 12,000 that is located 5 minutes outside of our YWAM base. It has a real homey feel to it, and there are a ton of small stores located down the main street. Matamata is also the home of Hobbiton. There is a place where you can go on a bus tour in town, and also a pretty cool golem statue in the middle of town. Matamata has also has hit a dark spot though. Last year there was a string of murders and suicides amongst the teenagers of the community. There is a real shortage of REAL love in the town. Teenagers are consumed by alcohol and trying to find love in all the wrong places. The YWAM here has a real heart for the local communities and I’m happy to be a part of that now.

Anyways, that’s most of what happened last week.

God Bless,

Brendan
