Alright, so I’m going to try and fill everyone in on my first two weeks here in beautiful Crystal Springs, New Zealand.
Week 1
We arrived to the YWAM base on Saturday the 5th and I didn’t really know what to expect. Over the next few days the group of us, numbering 61, got to know each other pretty well. We shared our life stories/testimonies. Hearing 61 testimonies in two days was a little bit mind-numbing, but it was an incredible experience as we grew together through the process of opening up our lives.
On Wednesday the quite, gentle old man Maynard Rutherford came and spoke to us on the Character and Nature of God. Maynard was not the most dynamic speaker, but he spoke a lot of truth and what he would have to say really came important in the next week.
During the week we have times of worship. This is when we all come together to just sing and worship God. I wrote in my journal on Sept 8th, “Yesterday during base worship God was beginning the process of breaking me. “ God had begun the process of breaking me down, and moulding me. Awesome! But even though I recognized God beginning to work in my life in this new way I could feel that there was something in the way, like there was a wall between me and God.
There was also this strange word that kept on coming up, intercession. What is intercession? I was hearing it was interceding for people. Uh-huh, and what does that look like? It was a strange idea and concept that I didn’t fully understand.
